Engendered explores the relationships between self-expression and public perception. This series documents people identifying as gender queer, transgender, gender neutral, cisgender, gay, lesbian, straight, bisexual and pansexual, asking them to document themselves how they feel represents them most accurately.

These portraits aim to address the constraints of a society that actively enforces and upholds traditional gender binary that dictates what we should and shouldn’t do based entirely on our physical anatomy.
